Home Information Packs (HIPs)
 

All residential properties marketed for sale in England and Wales required a Home Information Pack from 14 December 2007 to 21st May 2010.

For sellers, providing a Pack up front should reduce the likelihood of any nasty surprises in the selling process that could delay the sale.  Buyers will be able to make more informed decisions about purchasing their home. Although they are no longer compulsory they can be commissioned on a voluntary basis to improve the sale ability of a home.
